Mercator Suite 7, the new version of STAR-APIC’s cartographic production software, will be shown for the first time to the wide public on the STAR-APIC stand at the IMTA (EAME) Trade Show & Conference in Belfast (Northern Ireland) on 20 and 21 February.
Suite 7 constitutes a major release of Mercator with as highlight the adoption of PDF as the core graphic format, which will provide an even more straightforward link with the general graphic industry than its predecessor (native GRS). This will result in a still higher throughput speed for map products, while giving the same guarantee of consistency for which Mercator is so well-known.
In addition to the introduction of PDF, Mercator Suite 7 offers a whole range of new functions, enabling its users to produce maps and related products even more easily and efficiently than before. A number of these functions have been taken over from MercatorDB, the database-linked version of Mercator, which will soon be available on the Suite 7 platform as well and is also shown in Belfast.
At the IMTA (EAME) trade show, the STAR-APIC team will be able to tell the visitors all about the Mercator software and its use as main cartographic production tool at an ever growing number of cartographic companies and agencies.

Adopting Cloud computing can save money, but good governance is essential to manage the risk argues Mike Small
