A major industry event to be held on 1st October 2008 is set to offer environmental professionals an invaluable insight into major market drivers such as contaminated land, energy and environmental issues.

Now in its ninth year, the ‘Risky Business’ conference will feature presentations from key industry figures on topics such as managing flood risk, the climate change agenda and energy performance, as well as guidance on the safe development of land affected by contamination.

Speakers at the event include:

• Clive Boyle, Vice Chair of EIC Contaminated Land Working Group
• Patrick Coyne, Environmental Data Resources
• Phil Crowcroft, ERM
• Miles Keeping, GVA Grimley
• Hugh Mallett, Buro Happold

• Paul Rice, Pinsent Masons

Delegates will gain practical guidance and expert advice on key issues, discover how the industry is adapting to ongoing changes and have the chance to probe experts in the question and answer sessions that will follow each presentation. The conference will also offer some fantastic networking opportunities.

David Mole, Managing Director of Landmark Environment commented “Last year’s conference was a huge success with over 175 delegates in attendance, so we are very much looking forward to Risky Business 2008. We have a high calibre line up of speakers who will cover some extremely topical issues such as energy performance and the impacts of carbon reduction on development.”

Risky Business will be taking place on Wednesday 1st October at the Institution of Civil Engineers, London. All delegates registering for the conference before 1 September 2008 will receive a £50 discount and be charged £140 + VAT. The event is supported by Brownfield Briefing, EIC and the IEMA.
