Lemmer, 8th September 2009 - As from 1st October 2009, GIM International, the global magazine for geomatics, and Hydro International, the worldwide magazine for hydrography, will cease to be published by Reed Business GEO and belong to a new publishing company: Geomares bv.
Publisher Durk Haarsma and controller/office manager Meine van der Bijl are taking over from the former publishing group and launching the new publishing house. There will be few changes apart from name, as the new company will continue to produce existing products with the existing team, still working from their offices in Lemmer, the Netherlands.
Publishing director Durk Haarsma and financial director Meine van der Bijl share the conviction that this change will benefit the market position of both flagship GIM International and Hydro International magazines, increase flexibility in adjusting to new market developments, and improve the customer service offered to readers and advertisers.
Mother company Reed Business bv decided for strategic development reasons to dispose of its publishing group GEO.
