RapidEye at INTERGEO 2008

RapidEye at INTERGEO 2008
Brandenburg a. d. Havel, Germany, September 18, 2008 – RapidEye will attend this year's INTERGEO – the world's largest event and communication platform for geodesy, geoinformation and land management.

INTERGEO 2008 will be held in Bremen, Germany this year at the Bremen Exhibition Center from September 30 through October 2. Over 475 exhibitors from almost 30 countries will join RapidEye to showcase their products and services.

INTERGEO will begin one month after the launch of RapidEye's constellation of five earth observation satellites. “This is an important event for us, especially because of our successful satellite launch last month”,
remarks Michael Prechtel, Head of Sales and Marketing at RapidEye, “we can now show people how these satellites will expand RapidEye's business offerings in the very near future.”
Since the successful launch of RapidEye's satellite constellation, a team of experts from RapidEye's prime contractor MDA, subcontractor SSTL (subcontracted by MDA to build the satellites) and RapidEye have been
working on stabilizing the satellites, uploading the software to the on-board computers, and turning on and verifying the performance of subsystems.

“There remains much work ahead of us, but everything until now has gone well”, comments Pietro Widmer, Head of Operations and Engineering at RapidEye. “Commissioning the system will take some time, but we should have some preliminary images sometime within the next couple of weeks, which is exciting. We can
expect to be fully operational by the end of this year.”

Are you interested in meeting our team at INTERGEO? We would like to invite you to visit our booth 5.532, hall 5, to learn more about our satellite imagery as well as our mangement information solutions and discuss how we can support your bussines needs.
