RapidEye Library over 3 million sq.km. of India

Brandenburg / Havel, Germany, May 25, 2010 - RapidEye, the only geospatial solutions provider to own and operate a constellation of five identical Earth Observation satellites, announced today that over 95% of India (over 3 Million square kilometers) of its satellite imagery is now available in the RapidEye Library. Much of the country has been collected cloud-free, with the remainder containing less than 10% cloud cover. The image campaign began in January, however the majority of the imagery was collected within a period of about 8 weeks.

"Having virtually the entire country of India available is another testimonial to how quickly our system can cover large contiguous areas," commented Wolfgang G. Biedermann, CEO of RapidEye. "With the announcement that we had collected our one Billionth square kilometer of imagery last month, we can quite confidently say that that the majority of our customers can find their area of interest either through our library or the RapidEye Geodata Kiosk."

In addition to imagery over India, the RapidEye system has successfully completed full coverage campaigns over the United States, Mexico, central Europe, China, Indochina and South Africa. Each of these countries and many more million square kilometers of Earth are available in the RapidEye Library which currently contains over one Billion square kilometers of RapidEye data
products.

RapidEye images the Earth in unparalleled quantities and will continue to mak its satellite imagery available through its library, which can be searched either through a local distributor or directly through its Customer Service department.
