RapidEye Invites You to 'Sample the World'

Brandenburg / Havel, Germany, July 9, 2009 - RapidEye, the only geospatial solutions provider to own and operate a constellation of Earth observation satellites, announced today that they have released a selection of sixteen demonstration products generated by the RapidEye system. The samples of the RapidEye Standard Image Products show a variety of areas around the world including agricultural, forestry and urban areas.

"Different types of terrain in different countries are represented to accommodate just about everyone. Potential customers can test RapidEye's products covering an area they are familiar with, and since we are offering these test samples at no charge, there is no financial risk involved," said Wolfgang Biedermann, CEO of RapidEye. "We also want to make sure that there are a large number of samples available to show the consistency and quality of our products."

The sample datasets are available as RapidEye Ortho Products (level 3A) which offer the highest level of processing available for the RapidEye Standard Image Products. These images have not only been radiometrically corrected, but have been orthorectified using Ground Control Points and a DTED level 1 SRTM DEM (digital elevation model) or better. For detailed technical information about RapidEye's Standard Image Product, please refer to the RapidEye Standard Image Product Specifications at the link below.

If you are interested in one or more demonstration products, please email demoproducts@rapideye.de and you will be provided with the access immediately.

If you would like to acquire images of your region or area of interest you will have the opportunity to choose from the expanding collection of imagery in the RapidEye Library by contacting a RapidEye distributor or RapidEye directly. The RapidEye Library is continuously growing, with new images being downloaded from RapidEye's satellites every day. For more information please contact the RapidEye website at www.rapideye.de, or email an inquiry to sales@rapideye.de.
