Vaughan, Canada - Optech Incorporated, a manufacturer of leading-edge lidar survey
systems, has been named Exporter of the Year. The award was announced April 17th at
the 19th Annual Vaughan Chamber of Commerce Business Achievement Awards banquet.
Sponsored by Export Development Canada, the competitive award recognizes world-class
performance in opening new export markets, increasing exports and introducing new
products.

"We are extremely pleased to receive this recognition by the city of Vaughan," said Don
Carswell, President of Optech. "We chose Vaughan as an ideal place to do business and
we are very happy Vaughan chose us for this honour."

Since moving its headquarters to Vaughan in 2006, Optech has continued its growth as the
world’s leading provider of advanced lidar technology to customers on every continent.
Remarks during the award presentation noted that Optech technology is also at the heart of
the lidar-based weather station aboard the NASA Phoenix Mars Lander, due to land on the
Red Planet on May 25th, giving Optech the additional distinction of the farthest export of any award recipient.
