Optech Announces New ALTM Technology Platform

November 10, 2009 - Toronto, Canada - Optech Incorporated, the world’s leading manufacturer of advanced lidar survey instruments, is pleased to announce the Pegasus — a new member of the Airborne Laser Terrain Mapper (ALTM) product family. Designed as a technology platform that fully exploits application niches, Pegasus is positioned to take lidar mapping to the next level.

“We are very excited to offer to the professional surveying community a new airborne lidar technology”, said Don Carswell, President of Optech. “The industry looks to Optech as a pioneer in lidar technology to develop new mapping sensor capabilities. The ALTM Pegasus embodies this innovation heritage with a unique platform architecture and unprecedented data collection capability.”

Pegasus represents a new paradigm in lidar mapping and imaging technology. Unique features integral to the sensor design enable the highest quality data sets available to the end-user. Coupled with the highest sampling rate in the industry, a multiple look-angle approach to data collection, an impressive operational envelope, and fully embedded digital camera solutions ranging from 5 to 60 Megapixels, ALTM Pegasus truly is in a class of its own.

Optech will have an ALTM Pegasus HD400 active imaging system in our aircraft at the ASPRS/MAPPS Fall Conference in San Antonio, Texas, on Nov 16-19, 2009. Please arrange for a privileged showing of the system and learn more about its capabilities. Contact Sumona Datta at 1-416-618-2575 or 1-905-660-0808, by email at sumonad@optech.ca, or visit the Optech booth.
