Océ’s new technology creates waves

Brentwood, Essex – 29 April 2009 – The display graphics market has become an important new market for an acclaimed digital printing technology, called Océ CrystalPointTM, which got its first major showing at the Sign & Digital UK show.

Océ, an international leader in digital document management, will be demonstrating the versatility, unrivalled productivity and ‘green’ capabilities through its first family member – the Océ ColorWave 600, which will be demonstrated on Stand E10 in Hall 8 at the NEC.

The new technology from Océ, which was launched a year ago, changes the way wide format prints are made by combining the best of both toner and inkjet printing. The Océ CrystalPoint process converts colour Océ TonerPearls toner into a gel. This tonergel is then jetted and crystallised onto any type of paper, producing crisp, water fast high quality images with extremely accurate dot placement. No ozone, odour or fine powder is released, which makes Océ CrystalPoint technology ultra-low when it comes to emissions.

With the Océ ColorWave 600, customers can print both colour and black and white on lower cost untreated and recycled paper. Most existing colour wide format products require specially coated inkjet paper. The Océ ColorWave 600 also prints an A0 sheet in 30 seconds, which enables display graphics customers to print at least twice as fast as conventional inkjet systems used by competitors. Prints dry instantly so they can be handled immediately.
