Hosted by the National Oceanographic and Atmosphere Administration (NOAA), the 73rd OGC Technical Committee meetings were held the week of 14th June 2010 in Silver Spring, Maryland. Over 200 members attended and participated in the various Working Group sessions. In addition to the Working Group meetings, there was a very successful OGC Web Service 7 Test Bed demonstration and a NOAA OGC Interoperability day. A number of key document motions and policy changes were discussed and approved. One key policy change is that the OGC is moving from using "urns" to "http uri's" for referencing persistent OGC resources. This move brings the OGC work in line with current Web development best practices. Another key policy addition discussed is the OGC Fast Track process. This process is designed to accelerate the discussion and approval of candidate standards that are mature and widely implemented or are
profiles of existing OGC standards.
