No summer vacation for the EROS family

No summer vacation for the EROS family

Picture: EROS В image segment, 70cm resolution, acquisition date: July 19, 2008, Khanty-Mansiysk

Summer is known to be the favorite time of the year for the majority of Europeans since this is the vacation season. Surprisingly hardware copies the likes of its creators and functions best of all in this cloudless time of the year without even going on vacation! Thus, in the period from June 19 to July 31 the EROS constellation successfully completed detail imagery of a number of cities and regions in Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and Byelorussia. Starting June 19, 2008 the ScanEx 1.9-meter resolution imagery archive was topped up with satellite images of Minsk the capital, Voskresensk and Kolomna of Moscow region, Gelendzhik and Yalta resorts, riparian Nizhni Novgorod, Yakutsk, Rostov-on-Don, Dnepropetrovsk, Volgograd, Perm, Dudinka, the centers of the south near-border subjects – Belgorod, Kursk, Grozny, Makhachkala and Krasnodar.

The EROS A satellite closely monitored the Earth and the Center kept sending commands. As a result the following cities have now their space images available: Syktyvkar, Izhevsk, Miass (Chelyabinsk region), Pechora (Komi republic), Voronezh, Pyatigorsk (Stavropol region), Donetsk (Ukraine) and Pavlodar (Kazakhstan).

No lazybones were to be found in the EROS family and the outcome of the hard work done by the second satellite of the series, EROS В craft , were the 70cm resolution images of the following cities: Kiev (center), St Petersburg (west), Khanty-Mansiysk, Tyumen, Salekhard, Volgodonsk (Rostov region), Ukhta (Komi), Solikamsk (Perm region), Donetsk (Ukraine) and Volgograd.

You still have an opportunity to use archived images of EROS, or you can request imagery of any region in Russia and CIS countries. Please send your requests via phone +7 (495) 739-7385 or e-mail: sales@scanex.ru.

To facilitate search and selection of images you can use the “Image Search” tool available on ScanEx Center geo-portal www.kosmosnimki.ru.
