The secretariat of the International Steering Committee for Global Mapping (ISCGM) is pleased to release news on the recent development of Global Map.
First, collective efforts of ISCGM, National Mapping Organizations and stakeholders of the Project have achieved the completion of Global Map version 1 in 2008, consisting of Global version of Land Cover and Percent Tree Cover as well as 73 national/regional versions of Global Map. Global Land Cover and Percent Tree Cover are also available for commercial use.
Second, the Project has also started releasing national/regional version of Global Maps in user-friendly formats (shape and TIFF). This enables you to facilitate the use of Global Map in a wider range of applications. The free GIS software available from the links below may help you browse and use the Global Map data.
We warmly welcome your revisit to the ISCGM website. If you have any questions and comments, please feel free to contact the Secretariat.
Finally we wish all of you a happy and healthy holiday season!
