New Version of MeteoGamma Application at ScanEx

The section dedicated to functional capabilities of the new а MeteoGamma® software version is now available on ScanEx RDC website. The software application is designed for prompt handling of data acquired by NOAA series (USA) and MetOp (European Meteorological Agency) meteosats and provides opportunity to study qualitative and quantitative parameters of the surface layer and carry out environmental monitoring.

The new version 1.06.2 of MeteoGamma® application features detection of cloud zones containing large ice crystals in cloud tops, which are normally related to occurrence of dangerous phenomena. The new version of the application allows saving processing results in JPG, GIF, TIF and PNG formats in addition to previously available BMP format.

Functional capabilities of MeteoGamma® software include:
• identification and classification of cloud types by levels and morphology;
• estimation of cloud parameters (temperature, height of top and water content);
• monitoring of occurrence and development of cumulonimbus clouds and related squalls and showers;
• monitoring of frontal zone motion;
• estimation of water surface layer temperature;
• detection of large forest fire centers;
• outlining of smoke and heat pollution zones in large cities;
• assessment of vegetation index;
• monitoring of major technogenic and biological pollution (blue-green algae bloom) in large water basins, etc.

The MeteoGamma® application can be part of Alice-SC hardware and software complex, operating in direct reception mode with data acquired by NOAA series, MetOp and FengYun (China) satellites. MeteoGamma® software could also be used for upgrading the existing Alisa-SK complexes currently operated by divisions of Roshydromet of Russia as well as by educational and scientific research institutions. One of the latest Alisa-SK installations was completed in April 2009 at the Koltsovo Airport of Yekaterinburg city.

Please forward your purchase orders concerning MeteoGamma® software including those on Alice-SC receiving complex complete with this software to software@scanex.ru or by phone +7(495)739-73-85.
