New Longer-Range Airborne Laser Scanning System

SAN DIEGO, Calif., April 28, 2010 ­ Trimble (NASDAQ: TRMB) introduced today a new addition to its Trimble Harrier family of aerial imaging and laser scanning systems‹the Trimble® Harrier 68i system. Designed for aircraft and helicopter operation, the Trimble Harrier 68i is ideal for long-range corridor, project, and wide-area mapping.

The announcement was made today at the American Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS) 2010 Annual Conference.

Based on the Trimble Harrier 68, the Trimble Harrier 68i extends the laser scanner typical operating altitude to 1,600 meters above ground level. The system incorporates a wide-angle laser scanner with a 266 KHz effective measurement rate to deliver high point density on the ground, providing the detailed modeling data needed for precise planning, engineering, and monitoring applications.
