New GPxX GYRO STATION from SOKKIA

New GPxX GYRO STATION from SOKKIA

ALMERE, The Netherlands, May 2009, SOKKIA BV, European head office, proudly announces the release of the new “GYRO STATIONS” GP1X, GP2X, GP3X and GP5X, all incorporating the GP1 manual gyroscope and SET X total stations.

Since its debut in 1990, SOKKIA has provided unique gyroscopes able to locate true north without the need of known stations. GYRO STATION is an ideal solution for surveying and setting-out tasks in underground and enclosed environments, as well as in undeveloped regions where a known station is rarely available.

Features

GP1 Manual Gyroscope

- Determines true north with 20” (6 mgon / 0.1 mil) precision
- Average measurement time is approximately 20 minutes
- Superior mobility with lightweight configuration
- Does not require a heavy-weight, heavy-duty tripod

SET X Total Stations

- Special version of the SET X total stations implements gyro measurement program.
- Newly developed Remote Trigger DLC1 facilitates Enter key operation during gyro measurement.
- Oriented to true north, azimuth is automatically calculated and set to the horizontal angle of the total station.
- SET X withstands harsh construction environments, thanks to the IP65 dust- and water-protection, the highest currently available rate for Windows CE total stations.
- Four angle accuracy levels of 1”, 2”, 3” and 5” are available.

Applications

- Directional controls for tunnel excavations
- Setting-out in underground and other enclosed construction sites
- Roads, railroads, power lines, pipelines and other long and narrow construction projects where known station availability is limited.
