Netezza Partners with Safe Software on Spatial ETL

Vancouver, BC, September 16, 2008 - Safe Software, the leaders in spatial ETL (extract, transform and load) announced today that Netezza, a global data warehouse appliance company, is partnering with Safe Software for spatial ETL. Safe's proven FME® platform will be used to provide the spatial data loading capabilities for Netezza Spatial™, an extension to Netezza's leading data warehouse appliance. Known in the industry for its extensive format support and unmatched data transformation capabilities, FME will enable organizations that implement Netezza Spatial to efficiently load and transform large volumes of spatial data into this new data warehouse appliance.

For optimized strategic planning and location intelligence, organizations need real-time access to a comprehensive view of their spatial data assets. Yet, the challenges associated with integrating and transforming disparate spatial data into a unified environment can be daunting. When designing its new spatial extension, Netezza turned to Safe Software's FME to address these complex data interoperability challenges.
