NGIS Australia partners with Rottnest Island Auth.

NGIS Australia is partnering with the Rottnest Island Authority (RIA) to introduce a complete GIS solution, including the deployment of the latest desktop, mobile and web spatial systems as well as comprehensive training and support.

“Rottnest is a very special place, so having the opportunity to work with the Authority to introduce spatial technology and integrate it into their business is an exciting process to be engaged in,” Managing Director, Paul Farrell said.

The cornerstone of the solution being implemented by NGIS is GeoSamba Universal, a product that provides value when it comes to web mapping and integrating GIS data into business processes. To complement this, NGIS is working with the RIA to implement open source desktop software to provide flexibility with desktop licensing whilst keeping the total cost of ownership of GIS to a minimum.

Project Manager Nathan Eaton says the project is a real collaborative effort to introduce and establish ways that GIS technology can support planning, decision making and potentially drive further efficiencies with the way the island is managed.

“We are really looking forward to working with the Rottnest Island Authority to implement a GIS solution that works for them and gives them the capacity to grow the way the island utilises spatial information,” he said.

NGIS specialises in implementing GIS solutions that fit specific needs, using appropriate software and working hand in hand with organisations to understand their business.
