NAVTEQ announces latest digital map innovations

Paris – October 2, 2008 – NAVTEQ, a leading global provider of digital maps for vehicle navigation and location-based solutions today announced that the new Peugeot high end WIP Com 3D navigation system will feature NAVTEQ mapping complete with the latest NAVTEQ graphic innovations and rich content.

To be integrated throughout the Peugeot 308 family, the WIP Com 3D is a factory fitted, in-dash system offering advanced functions which increase driver convenience and comfort. For example:

- Junction Views - an overview of junctions and signs to help guide drivers through complex intersections
- 3D City Models - a 3D visual context to help drivers more easily follow the system guidance
- 3D landmarks - 3D, monuments, buildings and other sites of interest that can be easily recognised due to size, history or local appeal and can be scaled and rotated 360 degrees
- Lane Guidance - assistance in choosing the right lane with sign road display
- Digital Terrain Model - 3D elevation data with texture and colours for easy orientation
- Voice Recognition - the latest generation technology enabling verbal destination input
- Routing options – all routing options - faster, shorter and optimised - simultaneously available on the map for a more informed selection

Other innovative functions include the multimedia radio using embedded Jukebox on the hard drive, Bluetooth® hands free, and a USB connection.

NAVTEQ maps are also featured in the rest of the new WIP (The World With Peugeot) range of navigation systems including the WIP Nav and WIP Com and WIP Com 3D.
