London, January 30, 2009 – NAVTEQ, a leading global provider of digital map data for location-based solutions and vehicle navigation, has been recognised by journalists at the CeBIT-Preview event, for offering one of the three most important innovations of 2009. This traffic information service, previously known as ‘TMCpro with Floating Phone Data,’ was developed by T-Systems Traffic GmbH, acquired by NAVTEQ. This data will be incorporated into NAVTEQ Traffic in Europe.
The award is testimony to the tremendous innovation that went into building this service, which relies on anonymised floating mobile phone data to generate traffic information for navigation systems. NAVTEQ Traffic provides European drivers with in-time information about highway congestion in addition to traffic status on rural and main roads as well as helpful re-routing information.

Adopting Cloud computing can save money, but good governance is essential to manage the risk argues Mike Small
