NAVTEQ Signs Global Contract With ALK Technologies

Chicago - October 21, 2009 - NAVTEQ, the leading global provider of digital map, traffic and location data for in-vehicle, portable, wireless and enterprise solutions has signed a new global contract with ALK Technologies to supply map data and content for the company's CoPilot Live GPS navigation products. This new agreement reaffirms an already longstanding relationship between the two companies.

ALK's award-winning CoPilot Live, for some time the EMEA market leader in perpetual licence smartphone navigation, is available for both professional and consumer applications. CoPilot Live, recently launched on the iPhone App Store, has quickly become one of the highest grossing apps in many regions*. The new NAVTEQ contract includes a broader expanse of coverage to support further development in global markets.

"Our recently launched CoPilot Live v8 smartphone navigation software for iPhone Windows Mobile and Android smartphones already features the NAVTEQ Map in EMEA and brings great innovations such as extended lanes, speed limit alerts and branded POIs to smartphone navigation," explained Michael Kornhauser, Managing Director, CoPilot Solutions at ALK Technologies. "We are pleased to be extending our relationship with NAVTEQ as we bring CoPilot Live's premium-quality navigation experience to new markets across the globe."

"It is always rewarding when an established customer extends its collaboration with NAVTEQ, adding new territories to the specification and also incorporating recently developed content and technology. We look forward to our continued association, and to the further success of CoPilot Live smartphone navigation with NAVTEQ maps," added Serge Bussat, vice president, Consumer Sales Europe, NAVTEQ.
