NAVTEQ Showcases Cutting Edge Content

Mobile World Congress, Barcelona, Spain. Stand 1G45 Hall 1 - February 16, 2009 - NAVTEQ, a leading global provider of digital map data for location-based solutions and vehicle navigation, is showcasing a broad scope of cutting-edge content and technology in a range of mapping solutions and devices at the 2009 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona (stand 1G45, Hall 1). The stand features two distinct demonstration areas: NAVTEQ product and services, including a pedestrian navigation area featuring brand name devices and navigation systems powered by NAVTEQ Discover Citiesâ„¢; and a customer zone showcasing the latest built-in and mobile navigation offerings from five major mobile navigation players.

* NAVTEQ Discover Cities: With availability in 86 cities around the world, this product is meeting the demands of a customer base longing to experience navigation outside their cars. NAVTEQ Discover Cities extends the power of the NAVTEQ® map with pedestrian-relevant attributes like walkways, pathways, cross-walks, tunnels and other features necessary to optimise routing through pedestrian thoroughfares. In addition, NAVTEQ Discover Cities includes extensive public transport information, which helps navigation systems deliver a variety of route options to users -- including routes entirely on foot, or with portions involving public transport. Applications from Navitime, Nokia, Networks in Motion, Samsung and Senda, all featuring NAVTEQ Discover Cities, are being displayed on the NAVTEQ stand.

* NAVTEQ Traffic: NAVTEQ has taken a highly reliable, comprehensive approach to traffic, offering the three types of critical traffic information--planned incidents, unplanned incidents and flow--all aggregated from multiple, proven sources and delivered in one feed. Today, NAVTEQ Traffic delivers accurate, robust real-time traffic information to millions of consumers in North America and NAVTEQ is introducing exciting and innovative traffic products to drivers in Europe and around the world.

* Dynamic POI (Points of Interest) Content: These data feeds from NAVTEQ bring the map to life with robust, relevant and real-time information end-users want and need. The company's dynamic POI content portfolio will include Air Travel Status, and in North America, Fuel Prices and Movie/Event Listings. * NAVTEQ Global LBS Challenge®: Initiated in 2003, NAVTEQ Global LBS Challenge is the premier event for wireless Location Based Services (LBS) innovation, inviting developers around the world to build innovative, non-commercialised LBS applications which work with mobile phones and/or wireless handheld devices using dynamic positioning technology and NAVTEQ map data. Several key companies in the LBS developer community are working with NAVTEQ to sponsor this year's Global LBS Challenge, bringing with them invaluable resources and opportunities. Sponsoring companies are offering prizes which contribute to a global prize pool of over $5.25 million US (approximately €4 million Euros) in cash, tools and data licences and handsets, making the NAVTEQ Global LBS Challenge one of the industry's most rewarding developer competitions.

For the fourth year running, NAVTEQ will host the final judging of the NAVTEQ Global LBS Challenge for EMEA at The Mobile World Congress. The judging will be held on Sunday 15th February at Poble Espanyol, located next to the venue of the Congress. This year judges include executives from BMW, BT, deCarta, I-Source Gestion, Forum Nokia, Orange Partner, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, T-Mobile International, Telecom Italia, Telefónica/ O2, Vodafone and Wind. They will base their final decisions on the following criteria: commercial viability, unique functionality and features and ease of use.

The Global LBS Challenge Awards Ceremony will be held on Tuesday 17th February at 16.00h in the City Hall, Poble Espanyol de Montjuic, Avgda Marques de Comillas 13, 08038 Barcelona, Spain. The Nokia "Calling all Innovators" program will take place on the same stage, prior to the LBS Challenge awards, beginning at 15:30h. Poble Espanyol de Montjuic is a five minutes walk from the Mobile World Congress venue (Fira Barcelona) and NAVTEQ shuttles to Poble Espanyol will be available at the shuttle pick-up area outside the convention centre.
