Demonstrating developer innovation and the evolution of the LBS end-user experience, NAVTEQ Network for Developers™ (NN4D) will be engaged in the following activities in Barcelona, Spain:
· Hosting the annual NAVTEQ Global LBS Challenge® Awards Ceremony on Sunday, February 14 at 18:00 (6 p.m.), preceded by a cocktail reception / contestant preview from 16:30 (4:30 p.m.) at City Hall, Poble Espanyol de Montjuïc. · Demonstrating the latest developments in mapping tools and application programming interfaces (APIs) for mobile app development on NAVTEQ’s stand (#1D59, Hall 1).
· Serving as Lead Sponsor of the WIP Jam sessions at App Planet on Thursday, February 18, 9:00-16:00 (4 p.m.), leading a discussion group session entitled “Using Location to Differentiate Mobile Apps,” introducing new app development tools for mobile and participating in the “reverse pitching” sessions. · Hosting a navigation demo kiosk in the Application Zone of Imagination Technologies’ booth (Hall 1, Stand 1E05), featuring NAVTEQ-powered navigation demos running on devices with graphics acceleration technology from Imagination. The apps featured are NaviGenie 3D Mobile Navigation Framework (Tuesday and Thursday) by Kishonti Informatics and VisioCity (Monday and Wednesday) by VisioGlobe – both showing a rich 3D-enhanced navigation experience through a dense city landscape. VisioCity will also demonstrate how to deliver useful and relevant ads to mobile phones in real time through NAVTEQ LocationPoint™ Advertising. Using NAVTEQ’s Visual Content portfolio, the applications will showcase:
o NAVTEQ’s Enhanced 3D City Models product, including road details; tunnels, bridges and land use;
o 3D landmarks and geometry, such as building roof types and texturing; and routing functionality using NAVTEQ core routing data.
· Showcasing proof-of-concept demos of location-based messaging services using NAVTEQ map data in Comverse’s booth (Hall 8 Booth #B83). The demos will reflect how adding geo-location capabilities to SMS, MMS and voicemail solutions will enable new applications and increased interactivity for mobile and enterprise users.
· Participating in the judging of the 6th annual International Mobile Gaming Awards (IMGA), an expert panel on the future of mobile games and handing out the “Best Real World Game” award. The IMGA starts at 17:00 (5 p.m.) on Monday, February 15 with the panel entitled “The Year Ahead”, followed by the awards ceremony.
