NAVTEQ Chosen by ZorroGPS.com

NAVTEQ, a leading global provider of digital map data for location-based solutions and vehicle navigation announces that it is supplying its digital map data to ZorroGPS.com, a provider of navigation software for mobile devices. The NAVTEQ map has been integrated into ZorroGPS.com's new navigation software in Europe and North America. The software is downloadable to a mobile device.

Designed for mobile navigation users, the navigation solution from ZorroGPS features "plug & play" accessibility, value for money and ease of use. Equally tailored for pedestrian or in-car use, it is compatible with mobile devices using the Windows Mobile operating system. The easy-to-use package leverages NAVTEQ's high quality map data to support its sophisticated and fast routing. It provides access to 120 self-installing navigation functions in either 2D or 3D and the intuitive and interactive user interface can be personalised.

This package, downloadable from the ZorroGPS website, is being offered free for a 48-hour user trial period including full access to all the software functions. Thereafter it is priced from euro 17 in Europe and includes the complete ZorroGPS navigation software and NAVTEQ maps solution. An additional European zone variation with an extra synthesised voice-guidance from Group Acapela (in 14 different languages), is priced from euro 22.

NAVTEQ's digital map, known for its accuracy and extensive coverage, enables effective Point of Interest (POI) search and routing functionality. It also provides an ideal foundation for supporting innovative wireless Location-Based Services applications that require accurate, rich and relevant content.

NAVTEQ's database also contains detailed information on road networks to provide more reliable and efficient routing and it includes millions of the most-valued POIs including local banks, cash dispensers, petrol stations and other popular destinations.
