Merrick & Co Ver. 6.0 of MARS® Software Suite

Aurora, Colorado – November 13, 2009 – Merrick & Company (www.merrick.com), a world leader in light detection and ranging (LiDAR), digital orthophotography, photogrammetry, hyperspectral mapping, and geographic information systems (GIS) mapping, announced the release of Version 6.0 of the Merrick Advanced Remote Sensing (MARS®) software suite.

The MARS® software suite is a robust, production-grade Windows® application designed to manage, visualize, process, and analyze LiDAR data with powerful visualization capabilities and performance.

“We’ve redesigned the MARS® software to support a robust end-user environment as well as to provide high-performance data processing functions. Many new features and product enhancements have been added to the application, which now fully supports Windows 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems. I expect that MARS® will appeal to a wide variety of commercial, government and academic users,” said Gary Outlaw, vice president, business development, geospatial technologies.

This newest version of MARS® will be demonstrated publicly for the first time at the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS)/Management Association for Private Photogrammetric Surveyors (MAPPS) 2009 Fall conference to be held in San Antonio, Texas from Nov. 16 to 19, 2009 at the Crowne Plaza Riverwalk Hotel. The demonstration will be conducted at Merrick & Company’s exhibit. The software is developed and sold by the geospatial technologies division of Merrick & Company and additional product information is located at www.merrick.com/MARS.

Merrick & Company, an $85 million geospatial mapping Merrick GeoSpatial Solutions, surveying, engineering, architecture, and design‐build firm, serves domestic and international clients in the energy, security, life sciences, and infrastructure markets. With a focus on the highly technical field of geospatial surveying and remote sensing, the firm’s most recent work includes providing mapping services for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers; Cook County, IL; Xcel Energy; and the U.S. Air Force Space Command.
