Map Cache Service in SuperGIS Server is Available

SuperGIS Server, the first enterprise GIS software of SuperGeo Technologies, is going to be officially announced by the end of this month. Map Cache service provided in the latest SuperGIS Server accelerates the rendering speeds and shortens the mapping time to produce high-performance dynamic layers. Each map service offered by SuperGIS Server contains several group layers. In order to display the group layers efficiently, SuperGIS Server can process map cache by group layer. When users on the client side read the map services provided by the server side, users can set the layer display of each group layer in each map service to make the layers be used in numerous situations.

Due to various areas, goals, and characteristics of layers, such as the resolution of the layers, the suitable scale of each map is different. SuperGIS Server enables administrators to set the best scale of each map service according to the characteristics of map services administrators would like to publish so that users on the client side can have the best display effects of the map service and display the most information.

Moreover, SuperGIS Server allows administrators to select dynamic generate cache or pre-generate cache to meet the needs. Dynamic generate cache is to build up cache of the browsed area, that can reduce the capacity in the hard disk. On the other hand, pre-generate cache is to build-up the cache of the entire area of the map service; therefore, a built-up cache can raise the mapping speed of the map service in multiuser status.

Because of different characteristics of vector layers and image layers, the map cache service in SuperGIS Server can automatically choose the best file format and compression type as the layers are being transferred back to the users on the client side. Consequently, the data transferring volume can be reduced effectively, and the map display effect can be improved as well.
