GIS Development and The Institution of Surveyors, Malaysia (ISM) to host Map Asia
2010 and ISG 2010 together
27th January 2010
New Delhi, India
GISDevelopment , the organiser of Map Asia, the
premier conference in the field of Geospatial Technology in Asia Pacific region, is proud to announce that for the first time they have joined hands with The Institution of Surveyors, Malaysia (ISM) and organize two mega events - International Symposium and Exhibition on Geoinformation 2010 (ISG 2010) and Map Asia 2010, together.
The conference is scheduled for 26 – 28 July 2010 at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Its theme being Connecting Government & Citizen through Ubiquitous GIS, the aim of the conference and exhibition is to foster the horizontal spread and vertical growth of the geospatial sciences and its benefits for the community at large and to ensure a synergy of efforts so far as discussions and deliberations with academicians, researchers, policy makers and industry representatives are concerned.
On this grand alliance, the Chief Executive Officer, Sanjay Kumar said, “ it is a pleasure to be associated with an organization like ISG which has been the pioneer in organising educational event for professionals involved in geoinformation techonolgy, in Malaysia. We are quite sure that this association will result in expanding the platform for the participants which will cover broader spectrum of the subject. He hoped that the forum will help the practitioners, surveyors, academicians, cartographers, geodesists and the professionals using geoinformation technologies in meeting their operational and business goals.”
Map Asia 2010 and ISG 2010 motivate the part icipants to meet, discuss, share and learn about innovative geospatial technologies. The three-day conference will have plenary sessions, seminars and symposiums. A State of the Art showcasing of technology and applications spread over an exhibition area of about 1700 sq. mtrs of floor layout would be a very important component of the Conference.
Map Asia provides a platform for the Asian Geo-Informatics community to realise, recognise, and reveal the stages of dissemination of Geospatial Information. It is an international initiative aimed at encouraging the convergence, sharing and use of Geospatial Technologies. Held continuously from the year 2002 when it was founded, Map Asia is the largest Annual International Conference and Exhibit ion on Geospatial Information, Technology and Applications in the region and offers a unique branding, networking and marketing opportunity to the stakeholders of local and international Geospatial Industry.
International Symposium and Exhibition on Geoinformation (ISG) is the premier educat ional event for professionals involved in
geoinformation technologies, including geographic information systems (GIS), GPS,
remote sensing, automated mapping/ facilit ies management (AM/ FM), supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA), and related geospatial technologies. ISG brings together scientists from academia, industry and government to analyze progress and to explore new research directions. It focuses on emerging topics and basic research findings across all sectors in the field of geoinformation technologies. The ISG Steering Committee is chaired by Y.Bhg. Dato’ Prof. Sr Dr. Abdul Kadir Taib, the past president of ISM and current ly Director General, Department of Survey and Mapping Malaysia (JUPEM). Other committee members are representatives from ISM, UTM, UPM, UiTM, USM, KLIUC and MaCGDI. This year’s event is also supported by JUPEM.
