MWH Soft President Esteemed Fellow Designation

Broomfield, Colorado USA, December 16, 2009 – MWH Soft, a leading global innovator of wet infrastructure modeling and simulation software and technologies, today announced that its president and chief operating officer, Dr. Paul F. Boulos, Hon.D.WRE, F. ASCE, has been made a Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).

Founded in 1852, ASCE is America’s oldest national engineering society, representing more than 140,000 civil engineers worldwide. Less than five percent of ASCE members hold the Fellow designation, reserved for those who have made significant contributions to the civil engineering profession.

Dr. Boulos is one of the world’s foremost experts on water resources engineering and a leading global authority on drinking water distribution engineering, from hydraulics to water quality principles. He has co-authored nine authoritative books and more than 100 technical articles on water and wastewater engineering.

Acclaimed for his practical and scientific expertise and his extensive experience in both academe and the corporate world, Dr. Boulos has been a featured speaker at leading organizations in science, entrepreneurship and philanthropy. He has been honored by national and international scientific and engineering societies, government and research organizations and NGOs. Among these recognitions are technical awards for excellence in scholarship from the American Society of Civil Engineers, the American Water Works Association and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

In 2008, he became the youngest person — and one of only sixteen worldwide — to be awarded Honorary Diplomate status (Hon.D.WRE) by the American Academy of Water Resources Engineers. The designation, the academy’s highest honor, acknowledges eminence in the field of water resources engineering. This year, Dr. Boulos received one of America’s most prestigious awards, the Ellis Island Medal of Honor, for his outstanding contributions to our communities, our nation and the world.

Dr. Boulos received his Doctorate, Master of Science, and Bachelor of Science degrees in Civil Engineering from the University of Kentucky, and has completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.

In bestowing the grade of Fellow on Dr. Boulos, the organization’s President, Blaine D. Leonard, P.E., D.GE, F.ASCE, noted that “ASCE Fellows represent the elite top 5% of ASCE’s membership, thus making Dr. Boulos one of the creative thinkers and mentors who will pass on his knowledge and experience to the newer members of our profession.”
