15 January, 2009 - If you use Live Search for Windows Mobile, it just got a lot better. If you don't, then give it a try. Microsoft had added a couple more features to the program to make it more competitive with Google Maps. The search and maps services already had a voice-enabled searching capability in beta, but after CES in Vegas, Microsoft added three new hot features, according to PC Mag:
1. GPS without GPS: The new Locate Me feature can use cellular tower triangulation to figure out where you are so you don't need a GPS chip to have your location be automatically determined.
2. Auto-suggest: As you type your suggest, Microsoft will query previous searches and available matches as you type to save you time.
3. Bird's eye view: Similar to Street View on Google Maps, Live Search will give you a photo view of the area.
In addition to maps, the program also integrates local weather, traffic, movies, and a search feature via Internet Explorer Mobile.
