Less Than One Month to Join GITA for Only $99

Dec. 8, 2009 - Aurora, Colo. — The Geospatial Information & Technology Association (GITA) offered a special membership discount starting 9/9/09 to celebrate the launch of GIT4Infrastructure.org, an evolving, community-based information center focused on geospatial solutions for the infrastructure.

Anyone who joins or renews his or her GITA membership by 12/31/09 will receive a special discounted rate of $99 (normally $125). For full details and to become a member, visit the link below.

Members receive further discounts on 2010 Geospatial Infrastructure Solutions Conference registration. The event is slated for April 25-29, 2010 in Phoenix, Arizona, and full program information and online registration are available at the link below.

“A conference discount is just one benefit of membership. The greater benefit is access to other members,” said Ralph Anhold, 2010 Geospatial Infrastructure Solutions Conference Chair and Account Manager at ESRI. “GITA creates many avenues of communication, collaboration, and knowledge transfer between members.”

GITA members have access to two of the most exciting features on GIT4Infrastructure.org: the online community and GIT4Infrastructure Information Feed. The online community allows GITA members to network, build a 2010 Solutions Conference Itinerary of sessions and seminars, and integrate their Twitter account. A new notifications feature has been added so members can choose how to receive forum posts, and there are more features coming by spring 2010. The information feed gives members access to the latest audio files, blogs, interviews, news, opinions, press releases, tweets, and videos, focused on geospatial solutions for the infrastructure.

GITA is the go-to association for geospatial practitioners from infrastructure organizations, including electric and gas utilities, public agencies, communications companies, oil/gas/pipeline companies, water/wastewater organizations, transportation, emergency responders, and more. The association created GIT4Infrastructure.org to become a daily information resource for geospatially managing, protecting, maintaining, and operating the infrastructure.
