Kuva Asset Tracking Device Top PRoduct of Year

CRANFORD, NJ – January 28, 2010 – The Intergis Kuva has been recognized as one of the “Top 100 Products of 2009” in Construction Equipment Magazine as a mobile asset tracking device that helps prevent construction site theft.

Each year, Construction Equipment Magazine recognizes products that lead innovation in construction. The Top Products Awards are the trade magazine’s oldest and most coveted industry award.

Kuva enables companies to track and protect high net worth assets including heavy equipment, vehicles, loads and cargo shipments using GPS/GSM system technology. It uses GPS to acquire location, time/date and motion data points.

Because the Kuva units are being used covertly, the compact size, similar to a small hard drive (6” x 3” x 1.5”) is an important factor. Even more important is the customizable reporting feature allowing users to determine frequency of location updates, which manages data transmission costs.

The data is then transmitted to remote servers via the GSM/GPRS wireless network, where it is processed, converted into the street address and posted to a web or PC-based application with GIS mapping and satellite imagery for pinpoint accuracy.

“Intergis appreciates the recognition for the Kuva as an innovation-leading product for the construction industry,” says Jeffrey Cohen, CEO of Intergis. “It reinforces what we hear from our customers and the marketplace -- that Kuva is extremely effective tracking and managing high-value assets, vehicles, cargo and materials.”

As an example of the efficiency and return on investment using the Kuva, Superior Steel, a Denver, Colorado steel construction company, recently recovered a welding machine that had been stolen in what they thought might be an inside job.

According to Superior Steel CEO Mary Gunn, “When we logged onto the Kuva Internet tracking site, it alerted us that the machine had been removed from the site the previous evening, as well as the location of the yard where it was hidden at that exact moment.” The Kuva led police to the yard where they recovered the welder, other stolen equipment and the flatbed truck used in the theft.

The winners of the Construction Equipment Magazine Top 100 Award were featured in the December 2009 issue.
