Intergraph Joins Forces with AMX International

HUNTSVILLE, Ala., Aug. 11, 2009 - AMX International, a leader in providing complete enterprise solutions, will integrate Intergraph geographic information system (GIS), outage management, design and mobile workforce management (MWFM) technology with its existing business offerings to provide utilities with a complete, end-to-end suite of technologies for managing their day-to-day operations.

The combined offering will unite AMX International technology with Intergraph GIS and field operation solutions to maximize productivity and eliminate costly, time-consuming integration issues. Additional optional components for the pre-integrated solution include e-billing, business intelligence, cashiering, customer self-service and call center software, among others.

"Utilities of all sizes are currently under increased pressure to deliver more energy while working more efficiently and cutting costs," said Jay Stinson, vice president of Utilities & Communications at Intergraph. "By combining our key strengths, Intergraph and AMX International are providing utilities with a turnkey solution for operating their businesses as successfully as possible. We foresee this solution being especially effective for smaller utilities that do not have the resources for lengthy, costly integration projects."

"Location-based technologies have fast become critical for the successful operation of utilities of all sizes," said Jay Price, president of AMX International. "Intergraph's powerful, open technologies, support for industry standards and vast experience in the utilities sector make the company an obvious choice for completing our utilities management portfolio."

In addition to eliminating integration challenges, the combined solution provides one common user interface across all departments, one point of system communications and work assignments, common, flexible workflows and quick, easy Web access to a variety of key information. Additionally, the offering is highly scalable, supports regulatory compliance efforts, can be installed on all market leading databases, operating systems and technical platforms and can be easily integrated with third-party applications via Web services. Utilities across electric, gas, water and wastewater sectors can implement the entire solution at once or in phases as dictated by their business needs.

Intergraph geospatial software improves data quality and accuracy to enable utilities to more efficiently manage and track thousands of power lines, poles, pipes and other assets while reducing costs. Utilities around the world rely on Intergraph for comprehensive utilities outage, asset and field force management to ensure efficient operation, unified monitoring and control and fast service restoration of distribution networks.
