Intergraph Icon Awards Recognize Visionary Leaders

Huntsville, Ala., Sept. 1, 2010 - Intergraph® today presented the Icon Award, the company's highest customer honor, to seven industry and government leaders for their visionary use of Intergraph's enterprise engineering and geospatial software. The Icon Award winners were named during the opening keynote presentations at Intergraph 2010, Intergraph's international users' conference.

The 2010 Icon Award winners are: the Bundeswehr Geographic Information Office of the German Federal Armed Forces, a national organization that produces maps, digital geoinformation products and meteorological data for the German Army, Navy and Air Force; ConocoPhillips, the third largest integrated energy company in the United States; CTCI, Taiwan's largest engineering, procurement and construction firm; E-Comm 9-1-1, the regional emergency communications center for southwest British Columbia, Canada; the New Zealand Police and New Zealand Fire Service, the country's dedicated law enforcement and fire response agencies; QUIP Group, a leading Brazilian offshore vessel construction firm; and Shell International Exploration and Production, a renowned global energy and petrochemicals company.

The organizations, which have innovatively utilized Intergraph software to significantly benefit their businesses or industries, were also recognized for their ongoing partnership with Intergraph as well as their ability to yield proven results.

"For more than 40 years, Intergraph has helped our customers to visualize and leverage vast amounts of complex data through industry-leading solutions," said Intergraph Chairman, President and CEO Halsey Wise. "The seven Icon Award winners recognized today have proven that with Intergraph, they have the power to propel productivity and efficiency to advance their organizations' operational goals and to shape their respective industries."

"Whether they employ Intergraph's leading geospatially powered solutions to serve the security, government and infrastructure industries or rely on Intergraph's next-generation enterprise engineering software to power our future through the process, power and marine sectors, these organizations are true icons," added Reid French, Intergraph executive vice president and chief operating officer. "We at Intergraph are honored to support these organizations in their efforts to advance their missions, influence their industries and change the world for the better."

Icon Award Winner Profiles

For more than two decades, Intergraph has supported the efforts of the Bundeswehr Geographic Information Office (BGIO) of the German Federal Armed Forces, which produces maps, digital geoinformation products and meteorological data for the German Army, Navy and Air Force. Together, Intergraph and BGIO pioneered a new technology which resulted in an advanced, single mapping system that serves both as a repository for housing spatial data and a production engine capable of producing some of the world's most advanced maps.

The third-largest integrated energy company in the United States and the fourth-largest refiner in the world, ConocoPhillips utilized Intergraph's industry-leading enterprise engineering software to develop China's largest offshore oilfield, the Bohai Bay project. An Intergraph customer for more than 10 years, ConocoPhillips continues to work to meet the world's global energy demands in a safe, environmentally and socially responsible manner.

A 25-year Intergraph customer, CTCI, Taiwan's largest engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) firm, employs Intergraph's SmartPlant Enterprise engineering solutions to increase productivity and accelerate schedules for its customers' oil and gas, petrochemical and power projects. From its beginnings as the country's first engineering and construction company more than 30 years ago, CTCI has transitioned into a growing business with a strong global presence.

During the XXI Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver, British Columbia, E-Comm 9-1-1, the regional emergency communications center for southwest British Columbia, relied on Intergraph's integrated public safety and security software to successfully protect the athletes, officials and spectators at venues throughout the province. Today, E-Comm 9-1-1 is celebrated for its forward-thinking approach to managing the influx of more than 41,000 calls for emergency response during the games.

When the New Zealand Police and New Zealand Fire Service needed the power of a world leader in public safety and security software to help protect the country's more than four million residents, they chose Intergraph. Employing Intergraph's proven public safety and security incident management software, the New Zealand Police and New Zealand Fire Service established a first-of-its-kind, single emergency incident database to span the country's numerous islands and entire national population.

QUIP Group, a leading Brazilian offshore vessel EPC firm, relied on Intergraph's trusted suite of next-generation engineering solutions to help build one of the most advanced offshore oil and gas vessels the world has ever seen: the Petrobras P-53 platform situated in the deep waters of Brazil. The company, which since building the P-53 has gone on to secure several additional projects, is now one of the country's most successful EPCs.

Known around the world for its skill in creating energy opportunities where none were thought possible, global energy and petrochemicals company Shell International Exploration & Production depends on Intergraph to improve operating efficiency and safety while reducing the costs, effort and duration of its large capital projects. Through its global deployment of SmartPlant Instrumentation, Shell, together with Intergraph, is responsibly tackling the world's future energy challenges today.
