HOOFDORP, The Netherlands, June 7, 2010 - Intergraph, the global leader in public safety and security software, has been selected as member of the European Emergency Number Association (EENA), a non-profit organization working on the promotion of the knowledge and efficient use of 112. De Coensel and Nerz will lend their public safety industry expertise to EENA's Operations committee, a specialty group within EENA focused on defining operational requirements for EU emergency services. The committee is also working to develop performance indicators for emergency services to improve emergency services management and response to citizens in distress calling the European emergency number 112.
"The EENA is committed to improving the knowledge and efficient use of 112 across Europe through advancements in standards, user education and technology; sharing of information and experience between 112 leaders and the industry is therefore crucial to continue improving the 112 service," said Gary Machado, Executive Director at EENA. "I am pleased with Intergraph's involvement in EENA and I welcome Geert and Juergen to the EENA advisory board; I look forward to their contributions as our organisation gathers emergency services and industry representatives that are defining requirements and performance indicators for emergency services throughout Europe."
"Intergraph is a global leader in public safety & security and a trusted partner of leading agencies around the world," said Sebastian Stepfer, Executive Director Public Safety & Security Europe at Intergraph. "The importance of collaboration in ensuring effective and efficient incident response is paramount.
