Infoterra SGSA acquires Enifosa

Madrid, 9th March 2010 – Infoterra SGSA, part of Spot Infoterra, the Earth observation division of Astrium Service, has acquired 100% of Enifosa’s (Enginyeria i Fotogrametria S.A.) shares, a leading Spanish firm in 3D urban atlas production and updating.

This purchase, which supports Spot Infoterra’s strategy of strengthening its position as a key player in the Earth observation market, is the first phase of a merging process that will culminate during the second quarter of the 2010, and make Infoterra SGSA one of the most important supplier and producer of geographical information in Spain.

With this step Infoterra SGSA is expanding into the complete value-added chain, adding to data acquisition (spaceborne, airborne & field data), orthophotos production and services based on Terrasar-X and Spot imagery, the production of 3D databases as well as software distribution such as Cadcorp, 3D GIS viewer and Purview stereoscopic workstation

“We are confident that Enifosa’s incorporation, with its knowledge and know how in the field of urban mapping and 3D modelling, will enable Infoterra SGSA and Spot Infoterra to keep growing and offering best-in-class services to our customers, and contribute to a positive development of the Earth observation Spanish market” points out Joan Romeu, CEO of Infoterra SGSA.
Jordi Sendra, Enifosa’s founder and owner, has been appointed COO of Infoterra SGSA. The new offices in Barcelona are located in avenida de la Diagonal 579.
