Infotech Enterprises Ventures into Oil and Gas

Hyderabad, August 19th 2008 - Infotech Enterprises Limited (IEL), a global technology solutions provider with US Geospatial Headquarters in Sterling VA, announced today that it has signed a contract with IHS Inc. This contract marks Infotech’s first venture into the Oil and Gas industry. The contract is for an initial period of three years.

IHS is a leading global source of critical information and insight, dedicated to providing the most complete and trusted data and expertise. IHS product and service solutions span four areas of information that encompass the most important concerns facing global business today: Energy, Product Lifecycle, Security and Environment. IHS enables innovative and successful decision-making for customers ranging from governments and multinational companies to smaller companies and technical professionals in more than 180 countries. As a major step to realizing this vision of information management, IHS has chosen Infotech after competitively assessing several other global IT services companies.

This contract focuses primarily on solutions for improving currency, accuracy, and completeness of the information pertaining to energy and engineering. In the energy area, Infotech will be supporting IHS in data accumulation as well as the production of data related to the oil and gas industries. In the engineering area, Infotech will be providing support in the areas of sourcing, acquisition, and content capture.

On winning the contract, Mr B.V.R. Mohan Reddy, Chairman and Managing Director of Infotech Enterprises Limited, said “This contract is key to the growth of our Oil and Gas practice. We have the top of the line skilled senior team with deep domain knowledge available with us. We will commit requisite resources to deliver service that redefines Global Standards.”

Mr. John Oechsle, IHS Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer, said: “Partnering with Infotech allowed us to greatly reduce the time and expense it would have taken to implement best practice information programs solely in house and will more quickly improve three key drivers of customer delight: Data Entry, Quality Control and Process Improvement.”

Infotech will implement full production from the ‘Center of Excellence’ (CoE) at Infotech’s Kakinada facility. This CoE will have world-class infrastructure supported by the latest communication systems to communicate with IHS.
