ITT Visual Information Solutions release ENVI 4.6

Boulder, CO - March 19, 2009 - ITT Visual Information Solutions, a wholly-owned subsidiary of ITT Corporation, announced the latest release of ENVI, its premier software solution for processing and analyzing geospatial imagery. The newest release, ENVI 4.6 builds on workflow advances introduced in recent releases by delivering automated processes and procedures that step users through previously complex image processing and analysis tasks. ENVI 4.6 also adds file format support for image data from the new Geo-Eye-1 and KOMPSAT-2 satellites. In addition, significant enhancements to add-on modules and the introduction of a new module for orthorecification are being introduced concurrently with ENVI 4.6.

Automated Workflows Deliver Timely, Accurate Information

ENVI 4.6 provides new automated workflows that allowing users of all skill levels to get important and timely information from imagery quickly and easily. ENVI 4.6 includes several new additions to the award-winning SPEAR Tools that provide guided-workflows and instructions for performing popular image processing tasks. New tools include anomaly detection, a Google Earth bridge, image to map registration, terrain-based orthorectification, and enhanced change detection. In addition, ENVI 4.6 also introduces a new Target Detection Wizard for finding specific objects in large image scenes.

"ENVI's automated workflow tools are intuitive for users just beginning to explore geospatial imagery, as well as highly beneficial for those who have years of experience in image processing and analysis," explained Richard Cooke, president and COO of ITT Visual Information Solutions.

"We continue our push to automate the processes and procedures commonly needed for extracting information from imagery thereby making the rich information geospatial imagery provides available to a wider base of users - across disciplines, industries, and experience levels."
