IA Appoints Kate de Groot Associate Director

IA Appoints Kate de Groot Associate Director

Intelligent Addressing (IA) has appointed Kate de Groot as an Associate Director of the company’s operational board of management. The appointment strengthens the UK company’s commitment to quality and business processes. This is in response to greater demand for IA consultancy services in the wake of continued and widespread adoption of the NLPG (National Land and Property Gazetteer) as a central source of addresses for national projects such as FiReControl and CORE (Co-ordinated On-line Record of Electors).

After managing IA’s recent ISO accreditation, de Groot’s responsibilities include overseeing the development and maintenance of IA’s Quality Management System and business processes such as contract and bid management. This includes looking after administration of the company’s main contract with Local Government, the Mapping Services Agreement (MSA) under which IA operates as the custodian for both the NLPG and the NSG (National Street Gazetteer).

Kate de Groot has worked as a geographic information consultant specialising in business analysis, strategy, information management, data analysis and spatial data standards. She has a wide range of experience across public and private sectors, specifically utilities, government, environment, market analysis, and research. She has been working at IA, initially as a consultant and latterly as a full time employee, since 2005.

The NLPG is unique, the master dataset of local addresses across England and Wales with over 30 million records, which also contain objects that do not have a postal address such as public buildings (halls, recreation facilities, churches, buildings on educational and hospital campuses etc), sub-units of commercial companies, industrial sites, bus shelters, monuments, radio masts, advertising hoardings, car parks etc. The NLPG already plays a vital role in helping local government deliver joined-up and cost-effective services to citizens and is increasingly used by the emergency services for command and control applications.
