How am I driving? Ask Journey Dynamics!

23 September, 2009: Journey Dynamics, provider of traffic technology and information, today announces the availability of MyDriveTM Driver Analysis, an analysis application enabling the development of unique driving profiles from various characteristics of individual driving-style. MyDrive Driver Analysis collects GPS data that factors over 250,000 different combinations of driver behaviour whenever a vehicle is being driven and enables specific data to be selected and analysed through the MyDrive Engine according to the operators’ criteria.

John Holland, CEO at Journey Dynamics, says, “If you have ever seen a white van with a sticker and a phone number asking, ‘How am I driving?’ and wondered if their fleet manager will ever know the real answer, Journey Dynamics’ MyDrive Driver Analysis is now able to provide a detailed profile of just how that vehicle is being driven.”

Holland explains, “Within MyDrive Driver Analysis many characteristics of driver performance – such as speed, smoothness, acceleration, braking and consistency – are analysed to produce ratings which are used, for example, by logistics companies, fleet managers and even parents to monitor good driving-style. Clearly safety is uppermost in everyone’s mind when analysing driving – whether that is for business or personal use – and MyDrive Driver Analysis has been designed to be a vital tool in monitoring safe driving. If safer driving is achieved along with reducing costs then that is even better.” Holland continues, “Good driving, by which I mean safe and economical driving, leads to a lower risk of accidents and lower fuel consumption. MyDrive Driver Analysis is designed to take a key role in supporting both of these and, because it gives a driving profile for each driver, it also leads to lower insurance premiums.”
