Hemisphere GPS Announces R220 GPS Receiver

Hemisphere GPS Announces R220 GPS Receiver

Calgary, AB - September 16, 2008 - Today, from the ION GNSS 2008 Conference in Savannah, Georgia, Hemisphere GPS, a leading designer and manufacturer of advanced GPS products, proudly introduced the R220 GPS Receiver. It is the first finished product to be powered by Eclipse™, Hemisphere GPS’ patented dual frequency technology. The R220 GPS Receiver provides extremely accurate, versatile, and robust positioning, in virtually any environment, anywhere in the world.

“The R220 GPS Receiver is ideal for professional mapping, guidance, machine control, and navigation applications,” said Steven Koles, President and CEO of Hemisphere GPS. “No other traditional dual-frequency RTK systems can compare to the value offered by our R220 Receivers. At Hemisphere GPS, we are committed to bringing innovative and affordable GPS solutions to the market.”

The R220 GPS Receiver features RTK (Real Time Kinematic) for fast, reliable, long range centimeter level performance. It also tracks GPS, SBAS (Satellite-Based Augmentation System), and L-Band (OmniSTAR® HP/XP) differential corrections to provide high precision positioning. Utilizing Hemisphere GPS’ exclusive COAST™ technology, the R220 GPS Receiver can provide accurate positioning data for up to 40 minutes of differential correction outage. It supports RTCM v3/CMR+ standard RTK message formats, making the R220 receiver compatible with CORS and other RTK base station networks. It also uses a standard USB flash drive for data logging.

Please visit Hemisphere GPS at ION GNSS 2008 on Tuesday, September 16th through September 19th in Booth 516 at the Savannah Convention Center in Savannah, Georgia. The latest products from Hemisphere GPS will be on display, and previews of upcoming products will be available.
