Geospatial World Forum

New Delhi, 2nd June, 2010: GeoInformtics, GIScience, Geomatics, Geospatial….. are a few terms for geographical information science. In recent times many organizations and professionals have adopted and accepted the usage of ‘Geospatial’ as an all encompassing terminology. In order to maintain our pace with the changing world we are glad to adopt this term to re‐brand our conference. Pursuing our earlier objectives and recognizing our expanding role, we are pleased to announce that ‐ the very successful ’Map World Forum’ is being renamed as ‘Geospatial World Forum’ so as to expand the scope and reach of the technology and also to provide a complete definition to this ever growing industry. We will continue to put together our endeavors to develop awareness campaigns advocacy programs and business development platforms for geospatial world through our conference.

On this occasion, Sanjay Kumar, CEO ‐ GIS Development said, “We have created an identity
amongst various stakeholders of this community worldwide. Renaming our successful conference Map World Forum to Geospatial World Forum has been done keeping in mind thelarger interest of this industry and project the term ‘Geospatial’ which more appropriate,
encompassing and is widely accepted to represent our community.

Geospatial World Forum provides a unique and innovative platform to define dimensions and
give directions to the geospatial industry. The conference facilitates meaningful discussion and dialogue between various stakeholders associated with geospatial industry including mapping agencies, geospatial companies, academic institutions, policy makers and most importantly large user organisations. The geospatial extravaganza is well represented by professionals from different user segments belonging to a wide spectrum of geospatial applications including utilities, land administration, petroleum and mining, rural, e‐governance to name a few. The participants include the stakeholders in geospatial industry around the world comprising of scientists, trainers, technology developers, application and solution providers, users and professionals and media agencies and above all, students‐ the future of the domain. Geospatial World Forum offers a unique in‐depth learning environment on different aspects of geospatial technology. The huge exhibition provides an opportunity to the delegates to keep themselves abreast of latest products being showcased.

Geospatial World Forum 2011 is scheduled from 18 – 21 January, 2011 at Hyderabad, India.
