Geoinformatics Forum Salzburg, July 7-10 2009

The international Geoinformatics Forum Salzburg is again co-located with the highly regarded German language conference on Applied Geoinformatics (AGIT), sharing the innovative AGIT EXPO exhibit.

A scientifically challenging programme, attractive events and a vibrant interdisciplinary GIS community from academia, industry and government is awaiting you to analyze progress and to explore new
research directions in GIScience. Topics range from geospatial data acquisition and GI-techniques, advanced spatial analysis, advanced 3D geovisualization, to geoontologies, and dynamic modelling and
simulation.The English speaking programme, starting already on Tuesday, features talks chosen for scientific excellence from a wide range of application domains. Workshops and four discussion sessions will provide a unique stage to facilitate the exchange of experiences among presenters and audience. We invite you to engage in the GI dialogue! Friday sessions - in cooperation with the
HERODOT network - are dedicated to Learning with Geoinformation.

Call for Poster

We invite you to submit extended abstracts for poster presentation until June 5, 2009. The poster session is an integral part of the AGIT and GI_Forum.

The best posters will be announced in a poster award ceremony Thursday evening based on the votes by symposia attendees.

3D Virtual Islands: Technologies, Policy, Business, Strategies Workshop

The 3D-world is depicted in various geo-platforms like on Google Earth™, Microsoft Virtual Earth™ and ESRI ArcGlobe™. It is expected that by 2015, numerous cities, countries-landscapes, and our world in general will offer 3D models for multiple purposes. The "Islands" have a unique position in the 3D virtual world. The 3D-Islands workshop promotes & addresses the state of art in webGIS technologies & virtual geographics for the production of 3D models tailored to the endeavours of the islands. Such endeavours can be for example tourism, real estate, administration, businesses exposure, and policy.
