GeoSamba enhanced with large format plotting

THE LATEST enhancement to GeoSamba Universal provides a new way for users to export complex mapping data from a standard web browser and create high resolution prints.

GeoSamba’s large format plotting automatically generates quality cartographic maps, complete with features like complex legends, scale bars, graticules and grid lines, and exports them into large formats from A4 to A0 in size.

Users can pick and choose different datasets and create multi-layered maps, with all the legends and other annotated features dynamically generated. The maps can be printed at a high quality resolution, making them perfect for remote field work or sharing offline.

NGIS Product Manager, Chris Devlin, says while the extension was originally built for the mining industry, many other clients will benefit from hard copy prints of high detail plans.

“Anyone who prefers to take a snapshot of detailed mapping data, scale it to size and work from a high resolution print will find large format plotting a value adding feature to their GIS system,” he said.

“Large format plotting breaks the mould of the traditional ‘desktop GIS’ system by providing the functionality that enables any user to generate high quality maps without the need for complex and costly desktop based GIS software,” he said.

Large format plotting is available as an extension to all existing clients who have a GeoSamba standard, license and is included with enterprise level licenses.
