GeoEye name Brian O'Toole Chief Technology Officer

DULLES, Va., Aug. 19 - GeoEye, Inc. (NASDAQ: GEOY), a premier provider of satellite, aerial and geospatial information, announced today the appointment of Brian O'Toole to the newly created position of chief technology officer.

Mr. O'Toole has global responsibility for developing, managing and expanding GeoEye's location-based technology and products for applications in geospatial intelligence and location-based services. He will lead the Company's strategic planning efforts to identify and develop new geospatial products, solutions, and services for our customers.

Before joining GeoEye, Mr. O'Toole served as vice president of Product Management at Overwatch Textron Systems. He was the President and Co-Founder of ITspatial prior to selling to Overwatch. He has served as Director of Washington Operations for MultiGen-Paradigm and director of Infrared/Electro-
Optical Simulation Systems at Amherst Systems. He began his career as a systems engineer at GE Aerospace's Electronic Systems Division in New York.

Mr. O'Toole has a Master of Science degree in Computer Engineering from Syracuse University in New York and a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Clarkson University in Potsdam, New York.
