GRIDA Korea & DES Singapore form Ridge-Soft

SINGAPORE, September 22, 2010 – GRIDA Korea, the developers of Grida Image Server, one of the fastest image server and DES Singapore, a major provider of geospatial data and consulting, have announced the formation of a new joint venture company, Ridge-Soft.

The new company will develop next generation of Image Server and market it globally.
“Our first release is Geo Data Server (GDS) can easily integrate aerial photographs and satellite imagery and brings the power of quick rendering into the users” said Ajith Menon, DES’s Chief Executive Officer. “GDS introduces Multi Image Provider (MIP) which is secure, highly compressed, lossless and optimized image format for faster viewing and transferring large image data over the network.”

"This joint venture will provide unique value proposition to underserved customers to meet their real needs by combining expertise from Grida and DES. The main value proposition lies in the removing complexity and making large assets of imagery easily available to the users" said Shin, Sanghee, CEO of Grida Inc

GDS is a must to have integration tool in a National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI). ESRI’s ArcGIS, AutoCAD Map and WMS enabled GIS tools can easily integrate with GDS and can draw the benefit of the fast image server. GDS will enhance any GIS profile by maximizing the utilization of the imagery assets.

Hoo Kai Hwa, DES Founder and Chairman Ridge-Soft said a number of factors led to the formation of Ridge-Soft. “We have worked with GRIDA and their excellent team of software developers for years on their flagship Imagery management product. Now we’re looking forward to working with them to create new products to meet the demand for the fast, simple and affordable Image Server.”
