GITA 2009 Geospatial Infrastructure Solutions Conf

Aurora, Colo., Sept. 18, 2008—The Geospatial Information & Technology Association (GITA) is pleased to announce that online registration for its 2009 Geospatial Infrastructure Solutions Conference is now open. The event is slated for April 19-22 at the Tampa Convention Center in Tampa, Fla.

The 2009 Solutions Conference Committee took a new and successful approach for the 2009 Call for Presentations, asking attendees to “Build Your Conference.” This gave more flexibility to prospective speakers, and submissions from all aspects of geospatial solutions for infrastructure were received.

“The variety of submissions we’ve received this year is excellent, and I’d like to thank everyone who sent in an abstract,” said Kecia Pierce, 2009 Geospatial Infrastructure Solutions Conference chair and industry manager at Intergraph Corporation. “Attendees will see a lot of refreshing content in 2009, such as Smart Grid, renewable energy initiatives, open source, vegetation management, and interdependency/collaboration amongst those involved in all aspects of infrastructure, as well as many more.”

Topics for the technical paper presentations include:

* Sustainability of Infrastructure/Smart Grid/SCADA
* Compliance and Security
* Interdependency collaboration
* Asset Management
* Business Intelligence
* Emergency Response
* Field Force
* Maintaining infrastructure
* Engineering content
* Organizational Change - "Aging Workforce"
* Global Workforce
* Global Infrastructure Issues
* Aging Workforce
* Infrastructure Design
* Compliance for Gas Distribution, Electric Distribution and Transmission, and Water/Wastewater
* User Implementation Case Studies

The conference will also feature preconference Knowledge Immersion seminars, user forums, panel discussions, networking socials, and an expansive products and services exhibition.

Online registration is now open. Registration fees start at $379. Exhibits-only passes are $25. Full details about the conference are available at gita.org/gis, or by contacting GITA at 303-337-0513, e-mail info@gita.org.
