GISWORX 2010, the region’s premier GIS event, will be held at the Al Bustan Rotana Dubai from 15-17 March 2010. Now in its fifth year, the event has extensive focus areas that are of great importance for enterprise and mission critical GIS customers as well as all of the users in the GIS community.
This year’s program has been designed to include several workshops and tracks on the latest ESRI technology including the coming ArcGIS 10 version, ArcGIS Server rest APIs, as well as a wealth of business partner solutions that complement ESRI technology in building robust enterprise GIS solutions and spatial data infrastructures.
ArcGIS Server Developer Track
This track will be conducted by Moxie Zhang and Mansour Raad, key members of ESRI who worked on and developed the rest APIs for ArcGIS Server. Using the REST APIs an organization can build very quickly Rich Internet Applications (RIA) via IDE like Adobe Flex, MS Silverlight, or using plain JavaScript programming. The track consists of more than eight workshops that cover various aspects of this new technology as well as focus on the new functionality as part of the ArcGIS 10 platform to be considered down the road by the customer.
Vertical and Business Partner Solutions on top of ESRI Technology
GISWORX 2010 will foster many business solutions from ESRI Business Partners including 3-GIS’ Network Express solution, ESRI Northeast Africa’s Geo solution based on the latest ArcGIS Server technology, Latitude Geographics’ Geocortex Essentials, GeoSolveIT, Geodan with its award winning Eagle Technology for Disaster Management and public safety, Con Terra, Safe Software’s Feature Manipulation Engine (FME), PCI Geomatics for their famous state of the art technology for remote sensing and image processing, HNIT-Baltic’s Cellular Expert, AED-SICAD’s ArcFM UT product, IBM and eSolutions’s Asset Management solution- Maximo, and other Hardware and data partners including Motorola’s mobility devices and NAVTEQ’s data.
Hands-On PC based Tracks
With the great success of the laptop-based track last year, GISWORX 2010 will have two tracks with PCs for trying out, practice, and Q/A sessions. The first track will cover the ArcGIS Technology hidden tips and tricks including ArcMAP, ArcCatalog, 3D Analyst, Spatial Analyst, Network Analyst, Labeling, Animation, data analysis, exporting and importing data, etc. The second track will focus on in-depth GIS data capture, storage options and geodatabase formats, QA/QC, reviewing and correcting, geoprocessing, etc. As part of these PC-based tracks the users will have the chance to participate and learn a lot about the ESRI GIS technology and how to work with it including latest product updates, editing data, publishing, etc.
