GIS for Oil & Gas Calgary Conference

Aurora, Colo., Nov. 13, 2009—The Geospatial Information & Technology Association (GITA) is pleased to announce that attendance for its 2009 GIS for Oil & Gas Calgary Conference saw a slight increase in registration, going from 109 attendees in 2008 to 110 in 2009. The event was held at the Calgary Marriott Hotel in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Nov. 3-4, and will move to September in 2010.

The event included 16 technical sessions, two keynote sessions, and a closing panel focused on Canada’s oil sands.

“By working with the great talent on the 2009 GIS for Oil & Gas Calgary Conference Advisory Group, we were able to create an extremely impressive program this year,” said Robert M. Samborski, GITA’s executive director. “It also says a lot that we didn’t see a drop in attendance during this economy. That is great sign for this event, GITA, and the Canadian energy economy.”
