GEO Event Celebrates 12 Years of Success

GEO Event Celebrates 12 Years of Success

With the announcement of dates and venue for GEO-10 the organisers are celebrating more than twelve years of successful exhibitions and conferences dedicated to the geospatial industry. GEO-10 will take place on the 24th and 25th March 2010 at the Ricoh Arena Coventry, host to this year’s GEO-9 that attracted nearly 700 visitors and exhibitors representing over 40 supplier companies and organisations. Combining a full two days of conference with the UK’s only dedicated national geospatial trade exhibition, a packed programme of free, show floor seminars, live product demos and of course great networking opportunities including a Gala Evening of good food, fun and games, GEO-10 promises to deliver as the Number 1 GEO Event.

“This is a interesting time for all, not just those in the geospatial industry,” commented Stephen Booth of PV Publications, organisers of the event and publishers of Geomatics World, GIS Professional and Engineering Surveying Showcase. “As the recession bottoms out and the economy begins an upswing it is as important as ever that we provide a return on investment for everyone. With a proven track record and a commitment to serving the industry we are confident that GEO-10 will provide a foundation from which visitors and exhibitors can grow to meet the challenges ahead.”

GEO-10 is the annual national event designed for everyone involved in the construction, civil engineering, development, local / national government agencies, professional survey practice and consultancy. With exhibitors demonstrating the latest technology and developments in the fields of Geographical Information Systems (GIS), Global Positioning and Navigation systems, laser scanning, data modelling and analysis and mapping together with leading trade organisations and academic institutions GEO-10 is must attend.

GEO-10 also sees the welcome return of a full two-day conference built around two streams; Geomatics: Getting the Data and Geographic: Apps & Users. There will be plenary keynotes and topical presentations from high profile business leaders, practitioners, academics and researchers. Those with an interesting project, application or start-up project are invited to submit a synopsis no later than Monday 7th December 2009.

GEO-10 will take place on the 24th and 25th of March 2010 at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry; a world-class centre for business, entertainment and sport. The Ricoh Arena offers state-of-the-art conference, banqueting, exhibition, hotel and sports facilities and the multi purpose complex has already won awards for its design. Occupying more than 40 acres close to the M6 motorway the Arena is home to Coventry City Football Club and is ideally located at the heart of the country only a two hour drive for 75% of the population.
