GEO-9 event registration opens

GEO-9 event registration opens

GEO-9, the complete GEO-Event, has opened visitor registration with the launch of a brand new website by the organisers. Registration at www.pvpubs.com is completely free and there will be a range of incentives to encourage attendance, including free onsite car parking, a complimentary refreshment voucher plus a gift for the first 100 visitors through the door each day. GEO-9 will take place on the 1st and 2nd of April 2009 at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry, UK.

GEO-8 was the first new exhibition for more than 15 years targeted at engineering, surveying, geomatics and GIS professionals and drew support from more than 40 leading suppliers of geospatial products and services. A winning combination of commercial exhibition, show floor seminars and a range of social networking opportunities attracted more than 850 high quality visitors to the event and the organisers of GEO-9 are hoping to translate this success to next year’s event.

“Exhibition space at GEO-9 will be at a premium,” said Stephen Booth of PV Publications, organisers of the event and publishers of Geomatics World, GIS Professional and Engineering Surveying Showcase. “More than 25% has already been reserved by GEO-8 exhibitors. We are confident that this will attract the leading names in the geospatial industry and deliver an exciting exhibition experience for all visitors.”

GEO-9 will also co-host the m3 Conference. Focusing on the 3m’s of geospatial information - measuring, modelling, managing - the conference will provide the opportunity for geospatial professionals to come together to discuss current practice, consider current and emerging technologies and to hear topical presentations from high profile business leaders, practitioners, academics and researchers. The conference theme “When every penny has to count: cost effective geo-solutions for challenging time” reflects the changing times the industry has to respond to and a call for papers has been issued. Geospatial professionals are being invited to submit their proposals for presentations by the 1st November; further information can be had by emailing: editor@pvpubs.demon.co.uk.

GEO-9 will take place on the 1st and 2nd of April 2009 at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry; a world-class centre for business, entertainment and sport. The Ricoh Arena offers state-of-the-art conference, banqueting, exhibition, hotel and sports facilities and the multi purpose complex has already won awards for its design. Occupying more than 40 acres close to the M6 motorway, the Arena is home to Coventry City Football Club and has also attracted stars such as Brian Adams, Bon Jovi and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers to the Midlands city. “The venue is centrally located and within easy reach for a very large section of the UK population” adds organiser Stephen Booth.
