Two EU-funded projects in the area of Free and Open Source Software (F/OSS), namely OpenTTT and FLOSSMETRICS, have recently published a F/OSS guide for SMEs.
The guide provides general explanations about the nature of F/OSS and its current position in the IT sector. It also contains detailed guidelines and suggestions for the use of F/OSS by Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to aid the adoption of a correct policy when migrating to F/OSS and make the most of it. Moreover, it contains a section dedicated to F/OSS-based business models.
Different types of software applications and businesses are addressed, making this guide useful for most SMEs that wish to simply use F/OSS or even build a F/OSS-based business approach.
